Based on its current generation fleet, that represents a reduction of around 12 million tonnes annually by 2020. Judges at the Energy Innovation Awards have selected the company’s idea for energy storage as a finalist, in the annual competition staged by the East of England Energy Group. Fixed Price 2010 tariff is not available in the Northern, Yorkshire and Southern regions. The prepayment offer for this tariff only applies to electricity customers in London, the South East and the South West. A pioneering idea to store electricity, has led to EDF Energy Networks planning engineer Allan Boardman, who is based at the company’s offices at Barton Road in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, said: “I am delighted to learn that our submission has been chosen as a finalist.
